I work with CEOs, Celebrities and Small Business Entrepreneurs to help them become great speakers, presenters and media darlings so they can reach many more clients faster and get more business. A current interest is Video, in particular, on-camera presence, and its powerful intersection with Social Media.
I’ve had the honor of working with some of the world’s largest and most prestigious companies, top CEOs, movie stars and international celebrities. Two of my clients have won Oscars and one, the Pulitzer Prize!
But you don’t have to be famous to work with me!
Here are 10 things you may not know about me:

- I’m a political junkie.
- I cannot resist coffee ice cream.
- Every every time I watch the ending of “ET” and during the overture of Broadway musicals.
- I have a terrible potty mouth.
- I love to sing opera, and listen to select sopranos, but not to watch operas.
- I love the theatre so will never be able to live too far from New York City, which bothers me.
- I was one of the singers on the famous Coca-Cola jingle, “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing in Perfect Harmony” (but not the first round in the 70s because I’m much younger than that).
- I’ve been a vegan since 2010, but slip regularly, so what am I really?
- I believe communication can change the world.

I’m an Expert Blogger for Fast Company where I get to write about how communication impacts relationships and leadership. You can read my posts at http://www.fastcompany.com/user/ruth-sherman.
I’m a leading authority on Political Communication, widely quoted in the press on the topic and can state with utter confidence that he or she who communicates best, wins!
My book, “Get Them to See It Your Way, Right Away: How to Persuade Anyone of Anything,” (McGraw-Hill) has been translated into Chinese and Romanian (?) and also named a Library Journal “Best Business Book.” I have a second book in the works.
I have an M.A. in Speech and Interpersonal Communication from NYU, but everything I do work-wise is really a result of what I learned in my performing arts training (bachelor of music) and as a professional singer and actress, my first career.
I have offices in Greenwich, CT and Los Angeles, CA, but spend most of my time in CT with my husband (and resident humorist & designer) Brad Olsen-Ecker, and Orderv, the cockatiel (first one’s name was Cocktail; next one will either be Entrée or Dessert). Our older daughter, Britt, is an actor, director, singer, and photographer in Baltimore and our younger daughter, Lily, is a sculpture student at The Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. (Miss them, for sure, but I love my freedom, too.)
