Technical Essentials for VideoCharisma

Webinar Technical Essentials

Technical and other information to ensure you have the best experience and get the most out of participating in this breakthrough program!

To be ready to take full advantage of the webinar, do the following:

  1. This is a webinar, so online only. There will be no telephone access.
  2. Make sure you have the latest version of your browser. The webinar provider indicates IE for Windows and Safari or Firefox for Mac. DO NOT USE CHROME, AS THERE ARE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES.
  3. Adobe Flash Player MUST be installed. To get the latest version and/or update, click here. This site will automatically assess your computer’s OS and browser and download the correct version. Don’t forget to install it.
  4. I highly recommend connecting your computer to your modem by Ethernet cable (wired)v. Wifi (wireless)for a faster, more reliable connection. Video is inherently bandwidth heavy (and if you’re going to be using video in your business, you’ll need this anyway).
  5. Turn off all applications that drain bandwidth such as Mail, Twitter, TweetDeck, or other programs and sites that are connected to the Internet and that constantly refresh.
  6. Headphones are strongly recommended for listening to avoid feedback and echo. You can use a USB headset or the small headphones that typically come with an iPod or similar device. Make sure your system setting for sound output (speakers) is properly selected.
  7. It will be a Live Broadcast, so I’ll be broadcasting my webcam and mic. You’ll be able to see and hear me. I will not be able to see or hear you.
  8. We’ll communicate via chat and the Q&A feature.
  9. I will be sharing my desktop during the course of the webinar and you will have to maximize your browser window to see everything I’m doing. On Windows systems, you can eliminate your browser’s toolbar by hitting the function key, F11. On Mac systems, you can go to View > Hide Toolbar > Hide Bookmarks Bar.
  10. Once you are in the webinar, at the top of the Presentation window on your screen (the largest area that has my logo), in the upper right, you’ll see a small icon that will maximize or shrink that window. I suggest, during the parts of the webinar I’m sharing my desktop, you maximize that window so you have the best view. It will hide my video, but I’ll still be there.
